December Happenings here at Rainier View
    Posted on 11/30/2017

We are so proud of our Rainier View Community

    To our Families,

Did you know that Rainier View is at the “TOP 1% of Urban Schools in the Nation?

It is because of YOUR partnership with our staff that enables your children to succeed . Superintendent Nyland mentioned us in his State of the District address!    We feel so fortunate to be part of this wonderful Teaching and Learning Community!

One way we are focused on building our community this fall is by  applying the Magic Relationship Ratio Science here at Rainier View. This means  that for every negative interaction/or conflict, a stable & happy relationship needs to have five (or more) positive comments/interactions.  You can try this at home, too!

** Progress Reports are Coming Home**

Friday, December 15 is our last day of school before the Winter Break. We are getting out one hour early at 1:25. Your children will be bringing home their Progress Reports in large manila envelopes. Please take out, read and keep the Progress Reports, but sign the envelope, and put it back into your child’s backpack so it is ready to give to their teacher when we return to school on January 2nd.  The signed envelope lets us know you have read their Progress Report!

** Did you miss Parent Teacher Conferences? **

Please call to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher by December 14. We have a goal of 100% of our families meeting with their children’s teachers this year.

    **Holiday Wish List**

Does your family need a little extra help this holiday season? Please call or email our school counselor Daniel Gagnon by December 4th, to be placed on the wish list. He also has information about the Salvation Army’s Holiday Toy and Joy Program. The flyer is also available in Spanish and Somali.
