    One School Family Read
    Posted on 10/08/2019
Invisible String book coverWe are so excited to announce the beginning of our first One School Family Read Program for this year!  Beginning on October 7th, all families recieved a bag with a copy of Invisible String by Patrice Karst. It's a warm picture book about the invisible connections we share with those who care for us.
We hope your family will enjoy reading this book again and again. Please take time to talk about who your family is connected with by these invisible strings. It helps bring and keep us closer to think and talk about those we care for.
Each Rainier View Scholar in the family should have an individual packet. Please help your students answer the questions,  on the first and second page but let them each write their own answers to the best of their abilities.

The next two pages are an art activity - students can draw or use actual photos, or just write, or any combination to share one person with who they share an invisible string. Then comes a word making opportunity. See how many words your family can come up with! We are looking for the longest list and the most unique words!

We hope to see these first two pages completed and back to school by the end of October.

The last two pages are just for fun, a maze and another art project. There will be other activites coming home in the next few weeks as well.

Students will be hearing about the story in class, in art and library. Even our wonderful lunch lady. Ms. Zelda and Nurse Adrienne know all about the book.

Please join us in making this a truly All School Family Reading event.  If you have any ideas to share with us, we would love to hear them. Share them with Ms. T, the librarian,  or your child's teacher.

We are glad you and your family are connected to the Rainier View Invisible String!!!!
