Ms. Amanda is Rainier View’s part-time School Social Worker, she holds a clinical license in  social worker and has been with Seattle Public Schools for 5 years, this will be her 3^rd year at Rainier View. Ms. Amanda is a trusted adult in our school building for students who need a safe, calm and quite space to reset during the school day. Ms. Amanda’s office is located in the primary wing of our school and is equipped with fidgets, art supplies, games and a comfortable space for students to  reflect on feelings and get additional support. 

Our School Social Worker: 

• McKinney Vento/Homeless Liaison
• Removes social/emotional barriers to learning 
• Offers social, emotional, mental health and crisis support 
• Connects students and families to mental health and community resources 
• Provides Basic needs support through Backpack Brigade Weekend Food program
